Why Vote For Joal? I have almost nine years experience serving on the Board and am committed to ensuring that Carrboro continues to maintain its funky small town charm without losing its affordability for its citizens. During my tenure, I have advocated for more parks and open green space which the town has purchased with the Adams Tract and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, an additional fire station, and to double the commercial square footage in order to alleviate the tax burden on the residential taxpayer. When setting the policy for Carrboro, I try to implement policy that benefits Carrboro for the long term, not just for the short term.
